Book Review: George and the Big Bang

Review:  #243
Title:  George and the Big Bang
Series:  George's Secret Key to the Universe (not official title) - 3rd book
Author:  Lucy Hawking and Stephen Hawking
Read Before:  no
My Comments:  Taking into context the target audience, I actually found this to be a decent read.  Sure, the plot is really simple, but that was part of the charm.  Once again, however, the pages of facts break the flow of the story too much, so that it feels jarring.  They should integrate these fact pages better, maybe at the end of a chapter instead in the middle of one.  In terms of the scope of the plot, it’s less exciting, as they stay on Earth the whole time, but it flows much better because of it.  You can guess what is going to happen way before it happens though.  One thing I noticed, the facts presented here, particle physics and cosmology, there was way too many technical terms, such that for anyone who hadn’t done any background reading, will not understand what it is talking about.  Taking into account the target audience, this is a major oversight.
