Book Review: Vespers Rising

Review:  #133
Title:  Vespers Rising
Series:  The 39 Clues - 11th book
Author:  Rick Riordan, Peter Lerangis, Gordon Korman, Jude Watson
Read Before:  no
My Comments:  A good book that introduces the back story of the Vespers and how they are related to the Cahills.  The Vespers were first spoken off at the end of the tenth book which brought an end to the hunt for The 39 Clues, and this book is more like a prequel that brought upon all this.  Its split into four sections (hence the four authors), going from the very beginning up to now, each taking on the perspective of a crucial character.  I liked the first two stories, of Gideon and Madeleine, they were very interesting, but the story of Grace Cahill was a bit over the top and hard to swallow, while the Amy and Dan story was okay, and starts off the next phase of the series.  All in all, I quite like this book; it has a steel edge to it that hasn't been in the series so far, you are easily absorbed into the book.
