Book Review: The Business School: For People Who Like Helping People

Review:  #240
Title:  The Business School:  For People Who Like Helping People
Series:  Rich Dad's
Author:  Robert T. Kiyosaki
Read Before:  no
My Comments:  Just a warning here, if you do not like biased reviews, then don’t carry on reading.  I say this is going to be a biased review as I made the mistake of having a quick search on Wikipedia about the author and network marketing business, and they weren’t favourable, and this influenced the way I was absorbing the information as I was reading this.  Anyway, I have to say that all the criticisms on the internet was justified, the writing was terrible.  I hated the way the author kept repeating stuff, not paraphrasing but literally repeating the same thing, over and over and over.  What’s more, I felt like the book was one big advertisement.  He would keep going on at how he was able to retire at 47 and how bad his ‘poor dad’ was, it felt like he was rubbing it into the faces of the readers how great he was.  He also loves recommending the reader to read some of his other books.  After finishing the whole book, I still do not know what network marketing actually involves and what you do in one or start one.  Granted, there are some neat concepts and statements in the book.  I agree with the people who say his books are more motivational than a guide (which was what I had originally thought it was).  The worse thing is that he praises network marketing so much but he claims to have an objective view because he ‘did not gain his fortune from building a network marketing business’ yet he never speaks about any of the disadvantages or problems, and I find it hard to believe that there won’t be negatives.  The rating may be too harsh, but I found some of the content and style to be unbearable.
