Book Review: Benny & Babe

Review:  #293
Title:  Benny & Babe
Series:  Benny Shaw - 2nd book
Author:  Eoin Colfer
Read Before:  yes
My Comments:  A deeper novel than you would have expected from the simpler writing style.  Strangely absorbing, the content was much more interesting than you’d expect.  The characters were interesting, as well as the setting.  While I wouldn't say you would be laughing at every joke, it was still fun all the same.  While Furty was the antagonist, and his reasoning wasn't exactly the best, it was understandable and you do feel sorry for him.  At least what he did in the end redeemed everything.  In the ending, you would emphasize with Benny about his friendship with Babe, even though Benny was in the wrong and Babe had every right, you didn't want to see all that was built in the book gone just like that.  This novel has a simple charm to it.
