Cinderella

A classic film, but a story that's really well known by now.  The core story itself won't last even an hour, so there is a lot of other things wrapped around that extends the play time to around 75 minutes.  I won't say that I could do it better, but it was somewhat boring in the beginning when you're just waiting and anticipating the climax of the film in which Cinderella trumps her step-sisters.  The introduction sets the theme and portrays Cinderella as the innocent and faithful type, while her step-family as evil, lazy and selfish.  By the end of the film, the actions of her step-mother causes you to develop a dislike towards her, which I thought was well done.  Her step-sisters though, I felt was a product of how the step-mother just spoiled them, and that it wasn't really in their nature (it's too late to change their personalities by this point).  The songs were okay, none were too catchy, but they are still heaps better than what we get now.  It's surprising to note that the film is from so long ago, as the restoration has done a good job (if I didn't know any better, I would have guessed it to be from around 20 to 30 years ago instead of the odd 60).
