Batman
Batman seems like it wants you to take it seriously, yet there are some events that seem weird and out of place, that you can't tell if it was supposed to be like that. The film begins like you'd expect, Batman appearing to scare off some petty robbers. It doesn't elevate much more from there though, and on a whole, the story wasn't motivating or interesting. Instead of seeing the rise and origins of Batman, we see the rise of Joker instead (which actually makes a nice change). The transition between the character Jack to Joker wasn't that believable. Joker's behavior is much more crazy and random than Jack ever was, to the point where you question whether a person can change that much in such a short amount of time. Was Joker a formidable enemy? Well, he seemed to be an enemy to all instead of a nemesis to Batman. It felt like they weren't truly fighting against each other (each had their own agenda) until the end of the film. Frankly, the whole movie felt bland and Batman doesn't make many appearances at all, which is disappointing. The romance between Bruce and Vicki (including his identity being revealed to her, which felt too quick) is the focus of the whole plot. It takes up so much screen time, yet the relationship doesn't have that charm to it and feels superficial at times.
