Shrek the Third
In my memory, this was a terrible and boring movie, yet when I watched Shrek the Third again, it wasn't as bad as I had remembered, and I laughed in a fair few places too. The story is still not the best, there's nothing epic about it, and to be honest, it feels fairly trivial and petty at times. Prince Charming comes to get his revenge and Shrek tries to find a new heir (that turns out to be some weedy and whiny kid). Not really the classic fairy tale you were looking for. The fact that Shrek also had to deal with the fact that he's becoming a father kinda kills it. One good thing is that they didn't dwell for too long on Arthur's uselessness and complaints (it would be better if they had completely skipped it). The climax of the film was disappointing, and the build up isn't worth it. There's no excitement and rush like the first film or even the second one. The film also loses it's charm that made the first one so good, it's like it isn't a kid's animation anymore. The lack of songs and singing sucked too. There's still heaps of fairy tale references but they aren't as funny or original. While it's not the unfunny messy from my memory, it's no masterpiece either.
