Book Review: Path of Beasts

Review:  #392
Title:  Path of Beasts
Series:  The Keepers - 3rd and final book
Author:  Lian Tanner
Read Before:  no
My Comments:  Continuing one straight from the previous book, the main characters return to the original city of Jewel and the battle against the Fugleman begins.  The first half of the book feels familiar in the style of writing and there are no surprises in terms of events.  It’s when the second half begins that it gets much more exciting and sucks you in.  It compels you to keep on turning the page until you’ve realized that you’ve gone through another hundred pages.  While the plot isn’t that complex, some of the strategies used by the characters were clever.  That said, there were a few events earlier in the book which were great, but ultimately does not have a huge impact on the story in the end.  The Museum is still quite confusing and there is a huge potential for the author to explore or show more of it to the reader, but it doesn't happen.  In the end, it’s an interesting read but there isn’t enough uniqueness in the characters and plot to distinguish itself.
