Aladdin

An amazing animation that is still as stunning and enjoyable today as it was 22 years ago (wow, that feels so long ago).  As you're watching Aladdin, you can actually feel, see and hear what's missing from many of today's supposedly children's animation films.  There's a certain beauty and innocence to the plot (that doesn't require much violence or supposedly "childish" humour or even innuendoes) that captures both a kid's, and an adult's, heart.  The animation is fantastic, although recent releases have upped the quality and makes it look less dated.  Nevertheless, one of the stand outs is the music, the songs are pleasant and you get into the melody/tune instantly.  All too often in recent musicals, the music feels awkward and it takes repeated viewings before they start to catch on.  The humour was excellent, there were many instances where what happened onscreen was funny and the most important aspect, it did not feel forced.  The characters were charming, even the antagonist.  You would have grown attached them to by the middle of the movie and there were even a few moving moments.
