World War Z
World War Z gives a vibe that reminds me of I am Legend. The film focuses upon a character with a virus outbreak that turns people effectively into zombies. We then follow the character going around the world trying to find a cure. The action happens instantly from the beginning of the film. Sure, at that point, it's hard to tell what is happening and why but as it keeps going, you start to piece the bits together to create an intriguing premise. The film never stops, there are numerous scenes in which the characters fights the zombie but it never gets old and it's always welcomed. Interspersed are story moments where they fill in more backstory. A good thing is that World War Z answers most of the questions it presents. While the ending is not as satisfying, it was on a high note. The climax is predictable. The movie gives off a sense of hopelessness and despair. It makes you think how hard it is to overcome this infectious virus, seemingly no end to it. While there are a few questionable elements, it keeps you glued to your seat and World War Z is a very satisfying film.
