Book Review: Neon Genesis Evangelion: The Shinji Ikari Raising Project 13

Review:  #458
Title:  Neon Genesis Evangelion:  The Shinji Ikari Raising Project 13
Series:  Neon Genesis Evangelion:  The Shinji Ikari Raising Project - 13th volume
Author:  Osamu Takahashi
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Pretty much just the same old same old type of story that you would expect.  The Research Facility gets hacked/attacked once more by the mysterious Seele.  They’re great at sounding and looking ominous but we never get to learn anything about them.  Other than that, each chapter gets Shinji into some sort of awkward position with either Asuka or Rei and I think there is more fan service in this volume too.  As each girl fights for Shinji’s affections, it can get overloaded to the point where you feel it is predictable and that the thoughts of the characters should get on with it already.  By this point, you would have had enough of the insecurities of each character’s feelings, they would know where they stand and develop a plan of attack.  Anyway, it was still enjoyable and an interesting read.
