X-Men: Days of Future Past

Probably my favorite X-Men film to date, Days of Future Past isn't too bogged down by a bland plot and keeps things at a brisk pace.  I liked how they did not introduce heaps of mutants but instead focused upon the ones we already knew.  While the big draw is the fact that we see both the original cast of X-Men as well as their younger selves, the film focuses mostly upon their younger counterparts.  In the future, enemies called Sentinels has been hunting down mutants and killing them, leaving a very bleak world.  Logan is tasked with returning to the past in order to change the future.  The beginning of the film was excellent and set up the scene and story very nicely.  As you realize that most of the film is going to take place in the 70s, the enthusiasm will dampen somewhat but it still manages to keep things going.  Magneto ends up being the evil one as per normal with questionable acts.  Days of Future Past is a direct sequel to both The Last Stand and First Class which was interesting.  It was good that the film did not unnecessarily dwell too much on character reflections as it could have bogged the film down.  A solid film and fun to watch.
