Book Review: Missions of Love Vol. 3

Review:  #503
Title:  Missions of Love Vol. 3
Series:  Missions of Love - 3rd volume
Author:  Ema Toyama
Read Before:  no
Comments:  The first half of the volume continues on with contrived sequences and dialogue.  The love triangle comes into full play here and the way Shigure acts is hard to believe.  He remains inside the love triangle with the excuse of saying he will prove himself and make Yukina fall in love with him but it just does not feel rational or in character.  The backstory of Yukina’s cousin, Akira, is told but it’s your typical tragic dead parents.  The author tried to spice things up by introducing a new competitor, Mami, but love squares don’t really work as well.  Missions of Love fall into the trap of cliché scenes showcasing the characters in “emotional” expressions which only serve to make it seem even more contrived and roll your eyes.  The last two chapters were actually more bearable but still far from an entertaining manga.
