Book Review: Sword Art Online 7: Mother's Rosario

Review:  #500
Title:  Sword Art Online 7:  Mother's Rosario
Series:  Sword Art Online - 7th volume
Author:  Reki Kawahara
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Mother’s Rosario is a story in which it feels like a standalone story that complements the Sword Art Online universe.  For the first time, it completely focuses around Asuna with Kirito being regulated to a minor character.  This is fine because this is a strong story.  Asuna meets up with a character called Yuuki (nicknamed Zekken, or “Absolute Sword” due to her expert swordswomanship).  Yuuki carries a heavy secret; we get to see from her strong cheery self to when she breaks down in the end.  Even though it is only the space of a volume, you feel her legacy will leave a big impact and the ending of this volume is one of the most emotional since the Sachi side story in Volume 2.  There are some great scenes such as Yuuki versus Asuna and the Sleeping Knights banding together to fight.  The theme of this volume is using Virtual Reality in the areas of health, once again bringing points that readers will no doubt contemplate.  Not only has that but once more, the author brought out the value of life and death and the point of a person’s existence.  A good volume that’s keeps your attention and reinforces Asuna as a strong main character.
