Book Review: The Nameless One

Review:  #509
Title:  The Nameless One
Series:  The Edge Chronicles:  The Cade Saga - 1st book
Author:  Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell
Read Before:  no
Comments:  The Nameless One is a really good book, set in the world of The Edge, a fantasy world where the majority of the known world is forests.  It tells of Cade who stowed away on a Skyship, running away and settling for a new life.  What was surprising is that initially you would have thought most of the story would take place on the Skyship and the person that had taken him in meant that Cade had found his new calling.  It was a red herring and it will throw you astray, it gets to the point where the second half of the book feels very different.  Either way, it takes a good turn and the authors never stop introducing some new wonder of the world, which makes it an interesting read.  Unfortunately, there is a lack of a typical antagonist and objective, which means the plot can be vague at times.  An excellent story and gives way for a sequel, The Nameless One is a worthwhile read.
