Book Review: Emma and the Blue Genie

Review:  #544
Title:  Emma and the Blue Genie
Series:  N/A
Author:  Cornelia Funke
Read Before:  no
Comments:  A short tale that cannot get into any sort of detail.  Emma finds a bottle floating in from the sea on night, inside was a genie who had lost his powers.  They end up travelling back to where he came from in an attempt to regain his powers from the evil genie who stole it.  The good features of this novel are the fully colored illustrations, which looks bright and pretty.  The plot itself is simple and can be bland since it fails to capture your attention.  It is a typical story in that the villain is evil just because they are, and the protagonists will always get what they want and have a good ending.
