Cats & Dogs

While undoubtedly very fun and amusing for the younger audiences (which is the target market), the plot can stall leaving older viewers a bit bored.  At its best, Cats & Dogs has charm and cleverness, especially in the visual gags.  The performances of the dogs were impressive, the cats less so due to the higher reliance on computer generated effects.  The movie plays nicely into the stereotypical rivalry between cats and dogs, adding in a more complex layer by having both sides being equally smart, if not smarter, than humans.  The cats are trying to stop the dog-allergy cure from being released into the world as it would give the dogs a massive advantage, while the dogs have to stop the cats.  There are some fantastically funny scenes but on the other side, there were a lot of times where you can't help but think about other stuff because it was dull.  Overall, Cats & Dogs ends up being an average movie.
