Book Review: The Road's End

Review:  #566
Title:  The Road's End
Series:  Elf Realm - 3rd and final book
Author:  Daniel Kirk
Read Before:  no
Comments:  The final book in the Elf  Realm trilogy has by far the most engaging plot.  As throughout the series, we knew that Matt had to sacrifice his life in order to plant the seed to which to save the elf world.  Throughout the book, this inevitable fact is brought up and the reader is left to wonder how it will be resolved.  Will Matt really die?  Or will some other trickery happen?  The burden of sacrificing his life, and the notion of carrying heavy burdens is a recurring theme, and it is done well here.  The ending was satisfying although on the whole, the journal was a bit long, compounded by the fact that it took on three different perspectives.  It strayed towards the creepier side with the introduction of a long lost tribe of elves.  The Road's End introduced elements in the world which were very intriguing and makes you wish that it could have been expanded more.  A good ending to a solid series.
