Book Review: Terraformars 1

Review:  #572
Title:  Terraformars 1
Series:  Terraformars - 1st volume
Author:  Yu Sasuga
Read Before:  no
Comments:  A fantastic start to the series, Terraformers spotlights a crew of 15 people who travelled to Mars to complete the terraforming of Mars (i.e. to make it habitable for humans to live on).  How did they do it?  They used moss and cockroaches and after 500 years, it appears to be in its final stages.  However, the cockroaches have evolved into humanoids and the crew have no idea what they were going to encounter when they arrive to exterminate these "cockroaches".  What is nice about this volume is that it follows the start and end of this crew's mission.  The design of the evolved cockroaches is freaky, and it hints at a lot of mysteries going on in the background.  It makes you intrigued to learn more, although there's a lot of explicit content in the form of gruesome deaths.  Still, Terraformers was addictive, the art is fantastic and is a great read.
