Terminator 2: Judgment Day
It is rare for a sequel to surpass the original but Terminator 2 does it in every single way. It has an engrossing story, fantastic set pieces and handles its content much better than The Terminator. Ten years has passed and John Connor is now a child, however, Skynet from the future sends back another terminator to kill John such that he cannot lead the resistance in the future. In a twist, the Resistance also sends back a terminator, in order to protect John. Sarah Connor returns to a big role in this sequel too, where it gives more backstory on how the machines took over the world and what the future looks like. The new terminator's powers is clever, and it will leave you wondering how he can be defeated until the end. It was a smart move to introduce a new terminator to freshen it up for the audience. The other thing that Terminator 2 does well is the emotional impact and the bond between the terminator and John. The ending was amazing in this aspect. The special effects was well done for its time, and there were plenty of intense set pieces. There are so many iconic scenes and dialogue in this movie. One of the best action movies, Terminator 2 still stands well to this day.
