Book Review: Four: A Divergent Collection

Review:  #581
Title:  Four:  A Divergent Collection
Series:  Divergent Trilogy - companion book
Author:  Veronica Roth
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Four is a collection of four short stories starring the male protagonist, and love interest, of the Divergent Trilogy.  There are three more short chapters afterwards that retells the key events from Divergent in Four's perspective, mainly just how he thinks and feels about Tris.  We understand more of Four's background and rationale for switching from Abnegation to Dauntless, from his childhood abuse from his father, to the behind the scenes events that made him act weird when reading the story from Tris' perspective.  Unfortunately, one of the stories is his initiation story, which feels very similar to Tris', and thus is not as interesting as it could be.  This compilation reveals more of how the Dauntless works, as well as the changes compared to the present, which makes for an interesting read.
