The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride is a love story set in a fantasy medieval setting.  It has all the elements of a great fantasy such as sword fights, castles and a princess in distress.  The characters has charm and it starts off wonderfully with the hero coming in to save his beloved, overcoming the skilled swordman, beating brute strength and outwitting the smarts.  It stalls for a little bit during the middle but then picks right back up again for a great finale.  Even the side characters are interesting, with the swordsman seeking revenge for his father's murder twenty years ago.  Something that felt out of place is that this film takes place as a storybook reading in the modern day from a grandfather to his grandchild, with the reading occasionally interrupting the story.  Overall, The Princess Bride is a neat classic story that many will love.
