Toy Review: Transformers Adventure TAV-60 Bisk (Warrior)
Review: #343
Name: Bisk
Brand: Transformers
Allegiance: Decepticon
Line: Adventure
Year of Release: 2016
Size Class: Warrior (TAV-60)
Mold Status: new
VEHICLE MODE:
Bisk transforms into a slick and sleek orange sports car with blue-rimmed wheels and blue headlights.
The back lacks details since it is formed by the folded up robot knees. At least there is not an empty gap and thus Bisk feels solid in your hands.
Bisk is a decently sized figure and hefty in your hands, considering he is only a Warrior class which is supposed to be simpler and cheaper than your traditional Deluxes. In the size comparison above, you can see he is bigger than Generations Titan Returns Blurr.
There are no gimmicks in this mode but you can attach the pair of guns on top of each headlights and it actually looks fairly good like this.
A solid vehicle mode that holds together really well.
TRANSFORMATION:
The transformation is perhaps Bisk's biggest surprise. It is more complex than you would have expected and since he comes in robot mode, folding him up back into vehicle for the first time can be slightly tricky as you try to get everything to line up. Conceptually, it is not difficult but the transformation is clever and the most innovative thing is that his claws are formed by not only the front fenders but also the sides of the car.
ROBOT MODE:
Bisk's robot mode is where this figure shines as it is the perfect representation of the cartoon model.
He does not carry much kibble which is impressive. The only extra pieces not integrated into the core robot are the shoulder pads. Again, Bisk holds together well in this mode.
The headsculpt is perfect for the character but there are a few flaws. Note that the eyes, antennae and the bottom two pieces are made of soft plastic, which is understandable considering how easy they would be to break otherwise. His head can rotate, not side to side, but as in rotating in a circle which limits its usefulness.
In terms of size, Bisk is shorter than most Deluxes but makes up for it with his bulk. He cheats a bit in transformation as he features a faux windshield for his chest.
Poseability is better than you'd expected considering how he looks. The huge claws have heaps of articulation and can open and close.
He is also super stable as while his feet aren't huge by any means, he keeps his balance well.
His weapons are a pair of short guns.
The guns peg on top of each claw (using the same ports as in vehicle mode) so they look more like pop-up guns than something Bisk holds.
His legs are fairly short which can be slightly frustrating when you want to pose him more dynamically.
A fantastic robot mode that's very representative of the character.
OVERALL:
Bisk is a stellar figure. He has two almost-perfect modes in terms of play value but if for display only, he is the perfect representation. The transformation is clever although it can be tricky the first time around. Furthermore, he feels great in your hands, none of that cost-cutting rubbish you've come to expect. Bisk is highly recommended whether you're a fan of the cartoon or a fan of the character or even just a fan of Transformers.
