Lockout (2012)

Lockout stars Guy Pearce as Snow, a man wrongly convicted of espionage and then subsequently forced to infiltrate a space prison to save the President's daughter.  The President's daughter, Emilie was visiting the prison to study the effects of stasis on the prisoners before a full scaled riot occurred.  Snow is the one-man team getting through the prison, killing criminals and saving Emilie.  The setting actually has some potential but Lockout ends up being a generic action film.  That said, it was still enjoying and Guy Pearce's performance is really strong.  He has the charisma and his dialogue one-liners are often funny and works well.  As the majority of the film takes place on the prison, it makes the film really monotone in terms of color, there's only the drab blue most of the time, it needs more colors.  The ending is probably the weakest aspect and any plot twists are predictable.  Overall, Lockout is enjoyable and don't make you feel like you've wasted your time.
