Book Review: Two Moons

Review:  #629
Title:  Two Moons
Series:  Star of Deltora  2nd book
Author:  Emily Rodda
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Now that Britta is one of the finalists on board the trader ship Star of Deltora, the scope expands greatly from the first novel.  Britta is taken out into the world across the sea and visits some familiar places, making reference to other series from the author such as Rowan of Rin and The Three Doors trilogy.  It takes a short while before it starts to fully grip you with its story, and once Britta arrives at the trading town Two Moons, the author creates her magic once again with her rich storytelling and deep backstory of everything in this world.  It keeps your interest in learning more about the people of Two Moons, their cultures and their customs.  You would hope after the attack from before, Britta would manage to avoid one this time and hopefully make a good deal to get some valuable items to help her win the contest against the other contestants.  Due to the competitive nature of each character, it is hard to like the other characters.  As per usual, Britta manages to come out on top even though so many misfortunes go her way, but it’s fine, it is what you would expect and hope, plus, it gives you a satisfying feeling.  The only negative of Two Moons is the fact that a lot of the mystery about Britta’s father still remains a mystery, even after the constant teasing and mentioning.
