Book Review: James and the Giant Peach

Review:  #639
Title:  James and the Giant Peach
Series:  N/A
Author:  Roald Dahl
Read Before:  no
Comments:  James and the Giant Peach feature Roald Dahl’s creativity.  You wouldn’t have thought a giant peach rolling down a hill and travelling somewhere would be enough to make a full novel out of it, but yet the author has managed it.  The beginning was a bit slow but once James enters the giant and encounters his friends, which are enlarged insects, it captures your attention.  The best section was when the peach was travelling and they see some mystical creatures such as Cloud-Men.  Of course, the whole concept is not really believable but with the abundance of rhyming poems and quirky characters, James and the Giant Peach is entertaining.
