Book Review: Biomega Vol. 5

Review:  #751
Title:  Biomega Vol. 5
Series:  Biomega - 5th volume
Author:  Tsutomu Nihei
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Despite nearly a complete blank slate in the latest arc, this volume brings back a lot of confusion.  Not only are the events hard to follow, but it jumps from scene to scene and to other areas with no obvious connections.  One moment we’re following Zoichi as he battles against the DRF, the next it’s following this person we have never seen in castle surrounded by devastating light.  It has potential but the storytelling is too out of whack for it to make sense.  The art style can be hard to follow and even action sequences jumps around like they author was forced to remove scenes as he was running out of panels.  In the end, it’s hard to tell what happened and where it is supposed to go.
