Book Review: The Black Island
Review: #872
Title: The Black Island
Series: The Adventures of Tintin – 7th book
Author: Herge
Comments: The Black Island marks a noticeable improvement in the storytelling, being a lot more coherent. Unfortunately, the plot isn’t that strong and even by the end of it, you felt as if it never really lifted off properly. That said, Tintin goes off on his own adventure, travelling across multiple countries and stumbles upon yet another illegal happening. Through sheer luck and coincidences, Tintin uncovers the black operation. As per usual though, there are plenty of great gags and Tintin’s affections for Snowy is a bit more apparent here.
