Book Review: KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World 7 – 110-Million Bride
Review: #907
Title: KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World 7 – 110-Million Bride
Series: KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World – 7th volume
Author: Natsume Akatsuki
Comments: The volume starts off normally with the usual antics of the party. Darkness is acting a tad bit weird but off they go to fit against another legendary monster. Kazuma is also piling it in with the money, becoming ever lazier and less inclined to take on the dangerous bounties. Things start to go awry when something happens to Darkness. This is very much a Darkness focused volume and it works really well. After the previous volumes teased heavily between Kazuma and Megumin, it’s now Darkness’s turn. The relationship and dynamic of the party just works so well. They show friendship and gratitude when it is appropriate, disgust when it is required and have the perfect banter for each moment. Kazuma isn’t as bad as what other people think of him since we know that he is a good guy deep down. Aqua remains annoying for most of the time (in a good way with her cluelessness) but has her redeeming moments. Darkness can be frustrating since she refuses to tell anyone about her issues. Megumin is Megumin, being the hotheaded explosion obsessed mage. The plot is tightly paced, there doesn’t feel like there is any filler material (no matter how good that filler is in the past volumes) which helps in allowing it to be a lot more focused. The humor is perfect, every scene seems to throw something different at you and even at the darkest of times, the characters are having fun. By the end of the volume, it closes a few sub-arcs that were building up thus far. The ending is also a perfect conclusion even though the characters are being far vaguer than they should. All in all, this is one of the best volumes in the series.
