Toy Review: Transformers BotBots Strike Four (Series 3)

Review:  #
629
Name:  Strike Four
Brand:  Transformers
Allegiance:  N/A
Line:  BotBots
Year of Release:  2019
Size Class:  BotBot (Series 3)
Mold Status:  redeco of Batsby

ALTERNATE MODE:

Strike Four transforms into a red baseball bat, there isn't really that much except for the blue handle and Autobot insignia (a rarity for BotBots).

It is very small, much smaller than a Legion figure as shown above.

A novel and fairly cool alternate mode, he actually looks decent all around.

TRANSFORMATION:

Transformation is exceedingly simple, pull out the sides to form the arms, split the bottom to form the feet and then lift up a panel to reveal the head.

ROBOT MODE:

A side effect of having such a good all round bat mode is that the robot mode is fairly compromised, whether it is the legs being the handle split in half or the arms barely sticking out the sides.

You can see that the bat itself is mostly the same, so there's not much manipulation of parts or disguise here.

The face is painted on, given it is on a flat surface.  It goes for a determined, yet cute, artstyle.

He's the same height (perhaps a bit shorter) than in bat mode, and as such, is much shorter than a Legions figure.

Articulation is limited to only swinging his arms forward and back.  It's not a bad robot mode, but is definitely not the best that BotBots has to offer.

OVERALL:

Strike Four has an excellent bat mode and a so so robot mode.  This means that you shouldn't be disappointed if you get him since there's a lot of novelty factor to him.
