Toy Review: Transformers BotBots Glam Glare Fancy Flare (Series 5)

#639
Brand:  Transformers
Allegiance:  N/A
Line:  BotBots
Year of Release:  2020
Size Class:  BotBot (Series 5)
Mold Status:  new

LAMP MODE:

Not sure why Glam Glare has such a long name but it's quite tedious and overcompensating.  Anyway, Glam Glare transforms into a desk lamp.

Above is a comparison against Legion Barricade, and as a BotBot, Glam Glare is not very big.

Naturally, as a lamp, there aren't much detail to the mode, but it's instantly recognizable and pretty cool as a mini lamp.

TRANSFORMATION:

To get Glam Glare into robot mode, open up the top to reveal the head.  Then push down to shorten the support, pull the bottom to slightly extend the bottom panel as the legs, and then flip the arms out from the side.

ROBOT MODE:

The robot mode design is interesting, although this is not the best looking BotBot by far.

The halves of the lamp form wings and they are loosely jointed using balljoints.

The headsculpt is another oddity, with what likes like a lightbulb at the top.  The face is painted silver and allows it to stick out.

Glam Glare is very short in this mode, above is a comparison against Legion Crosshairs.

Articulation is Glam Glare's weakest aspect and one of the worst in the BotBots line.  Glam Glare's pretty much a statue since only the arms swing outwards, which is useless.

OVERALL:

Glam Glare is okay.  Only the lamp mode is any positive since the robot mode is too static and looks too odd.
