Toy Review: Transformers BotBots Brash Butterhead (Series 5)

Review:
  #663
Brand:  Transformers
Allegiance:  N/A
Line:  BotBots
Year of Release:  2020
Size Class:  BotBot (Series 5)
Mold Status:  new

ALTERNATE MODE:

Brash Butterhead transforms into a popcorn machine, complete with popcorn that's ready to eat.

One of the good things about this figure is how he looks like a machine from all sides, even from the back, there's no gap or anything here.

As a BotBot, Brash Butterhead is small though, above is a comparison against Legion Barricade.

This is a strong alternate mode that's well painted and immediately recognizable.

TRANSFORMATION:

The transformation can be a little bit awkward but you flip the top of the machine onto the back, and then pull the middle up to reveal the head.  The back of the sides pull out to form the arms, and then the legs pull from the bottom.

ROBOT MODE:

Robot mode isn't as good due to the proportions.  The issue with Brash Butterhead is that the arms are situated too far back from the body so it looks like he is overweight and clumsy.

This doesn't affect his balance too much since he still stands easily enough.

Funnily enough, he has an angry face on which kind of suits the whole hot popcorn theme.

The only height he gains is from his short stubby legs so he is still quite short when compared to a Legion figure.

Articulation is poor as you can only swing the arms front and back.

OVERALL:

Brash Butterhead is a neat figure although there are better BotBots around.  Nevertheless, he is fun enough on his own and the popcorn machine itself is worth purchasing the figure for.
