Toy Review: Jurassic Park x Transformers Collaborative

Review:  #711
Name:  Jurassic Park x Transformers Collaborative
Brand:  Transformers
Line:  Jurassic Park x Transformers Collaborative
Year of Release:  2021

PACKAGING AND CONTENTS:

A crossover between Transformers and Jurassic Park, this Collaborative set takes an iconic scene from the first movie and gives us two figures.

The first thing you'll realize is how long the box it, a lot more than you'd expect.

Otherwise, the sides has various details and Jurassic Park logos.

Opening the packaging up reveals the two figures, a tyrannosaurus rex and a Ford Explorer vehicle.

Although funnily enough, the tyrannosaurus rex is posed standing on top of another Ford Explorer, but this one is just printed on cardboard.

THE FIGURES:

The set contains two figures, Tyrannocon Rex and JP93, a Leader and a Deluxe classed figure respectively.

Their alternate modes are spot on and looks awesome, and being able to recreate the iconic scene is pretty nifty.

In robot mode, they lose their homage quite a bit, but are still a pair of nice figures.

Having them face off each other is okay, although maybe it'll be better to keep them in their alternate forms.

OVERALL:

This is a pretty cool set, although pricey for what you get.  Sure, there is a Leader classed figure and effectively a brand new Deluxe classed figure, and both of them are painted well, but it's still a bit hard to stomach.  If you can get over that though, this is a brilliant execution of a good concept.
