Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
A better film than Prisoner of Azkaban but it still suffers from being an overly long length and losing steam after the one hour mark. The writers have at tough time here, adapting longer and longer books into movies of roughly 2 hours long. Needless to say, a lot of events and finer plot points have either been skipped or glossed over. Still, the film is quite faithful and enjoyable. The movie doesn't manage to achieve the twists of the story, especially near the end when the big revelation hit. We also never got the exposition by the antagonist which would have revealed many things. It was disappointing that the third task was changed into something worse. Instead of a maze with dangers and obstacles, we get this weird hybrid maze that doesn't really present much horror. All we got was a dark and gloomy setting with winds blowing and roots coming out, much inferior to what it could have been. The climax was pretty good though and the ending was emotional when Harry returned. Ron's attitude in the first half of the film was extremely annoying, it just came out of the blue (it seemed that they followed the actions from the book but didn't give the same justification, at the very least the film could have dwell on it longer). There were some cringe-worthy scenes at the beginning (particularly the introduction of the Durmsrang and Beauxbatons) but it got better as the movie progressed.
