Title: The Crown of Ptolemy
Series: Percy Jackson and the Olympians / The Kane Chronicles
Author: Rick Riordan
Read Before: no
Comments: The Crown of Ptolemy is the third and final book in the Percy Jackson and Kane Chronicles crossover. Now, Percy, Annabeth, Carter and Sadie join forces to stop Setne from becoming a god and destroying the world once and for all. Being a short story, this gets straight into the neck of things with Percy and Annabeth trying to beat down Setne but overcome with his power. Carter and Sadie come to help out and through the combination of their effects, including mixing Greek and Egyptian power, they defeat Setne. It is an exciting story with heaps of action, and also managing to inject humor into the mix. The way Greek and Egyptian powers were mixed together felt somewhat arbitrary and contrived, doubly so when you consider that it doesn’t make much sense for the two myths to coexist together without much fighting. Still, The Crown of Ptolemy is an excellent crossover and provides closure to what was started in The Son of Sobek.
