The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1
Given it was the longest book in the series, as well as the final one, it's not too out of place for Breaking Dawn to be split into two parts. This first part, which clocks at almost two hours, tells the events of Bella and Edward's marriage, to their honeymoon to their pregnancy and the complications it causes. To be honest, it wasn't as horrid as it could have been, but it still remains an overly melodramatic and boring film. It fails to deliver the tension the pregnancy causes in all the relationships. It fails to highlight the important of Jacob's leaving the pack and siding with the vampires, as well as his imprinting. The way that Bella's face turns gaunt is impressive though and does well to highlight that the pregnancy is literally killing her. There's a contrived wolves vs. vampires fight at the climax just to inject some sort of action into the film, but overall, Breaking Dawn - Part 1 is not a great film.
