The Cold Light of Day is an espionage thriller starring Henry Cavill and Bruce Willis. Unfortunately, the actors are pretty much the only highlight of the film as The Cold Light of Day is boring and the plot is unsatisfying. Henry stars as Will Shaw who sees his family gets kidnapped and now has to retrieve the briefcase, lest his family be killed. Will performs a huge run around for most of the film, taking around 45 minutes before things start to become a little bit more clear. Even after then, with the shooting and car chases, it never elevates to anything more than filler, the plot is lacking substance. It tries to give the viewer significant revelations at various points in the story, but because you don't care about the characters and that the plot itself isn't particularly interesting, no one cares. Overall, The Cold Light of Day is a predictable and generic action film. At 90 mins long, it still feels too long and bloated.
