Toy Review: Transformers Cyberverse Prowl (Deluxe)

Review:
#678
Name:  Prowl
Brand:  Transformers
Allegiance:  Autobot
Line:  Cyberverse
Year of Release:  2020
Size Class:  Deluxe (Wave 5)
Mold Status:  new

VEHICLE MODE:

Prowl transforms into a police sports car.  This is a fairly sleek but still powerful looking car.

While the back doesn't have a gap or any exposed robot parts, it is a different color and has minimal sculpting.

There's also weird hollowed out bits at the back of the vehicle.  Otherwise, the robot weapon can peg on top, and this is its storage space in vehicle mode.

The two flame effects parts can peg onto the back, to look like jets of flame are coming out of its exhaust.

There is also one more option where you can plug the effects part on the weapon to mimic it firing.

In terms of size, Prowl is okay, above is a comparison against TLK Bumblebee.  Of note is that while Prowl looks somewhat sizable, he is quite hollow and feels quite light for a Deluxe.

This is a decent vehicle mode, the translucent blue plastic used for the windshield and windows does wonders in making it feel more premium than it is.

TRANSFORMATION:

As expected, the transformation to robot mode is simple.  The Cyberverse line doesn't innovate.  The back unfolds into the legs, while the arms fold out from the bottom.  The doors open to become the wings and the front forms the chest.

ROBOT MODE:

Robot mode looks decent, and the blue instead of black is atypical of Prowl but looks great here.

As expected, Prowl's quite hollow, from the limbs to the torso.

The head sculpt is simple and while it is distinctive Prowl, the sculpting feels a bit light.

In terms of size, Prowl is roughly the height of an average Deluxe, above is a comparison against Siege Sideswipe.

Articulation is great, with joints for his head, shoulders, elbows, waist, hips, knees and ankles.

The feet is interesting since there are additional pieces that fills out the outside of his ankles.  It's wasn't necessary but helps round out the look.

For weapons, Prowl has a gun and two flame effects parts.

Prowl has two shoulder cannons that are permanently flipped out.  The flame effects can attach on both to mimic it firing.

The flame effects having different sculpting, which may not have been obvious at first glance.

The gun can be held in either hand.

Again, the flame effects can peg onto the weapon, this helps add a decent amount of play value.

However, there are no other places to store the effect parts when they are not in use.

This is a solid robot mode, at the very least, much better than the Warrior version.

OVERALL:

Prowl is not a spectacular figure, however, he is satisfactory.  The designer didn't attempt to blow your mind away but set about making a passable figure that's not amazing and not bad, as a result, he can feel a bit boring.
