Book Review: Billy Bones

Review:  #432
Title:  Billy Bones
Series:  Billy Bones - 1st book
Author:  Christopher Lincoln
Read Before:  no
My Comments:  The novel began on a low point, being bland and a lot of concepts to take in.  These ideas involve a whole world in the Afterlife and the finer points of ‘secret keeper’.  It’s actually quite interesting, and the idea of a whole thriving world after you’ve passed on is a good one.  The story gets going after the halfway point, it presents a mystery (which so much foreshadowing has happened, you, as the reader, have solved it already) that fits in perfectly, like a jigsaw puzzle.  It’s exciting as you see the results unravel and it feels elegant.  There is a happy ending but it’s somewhat ruined by the villain’s last laugh, hinting at a sequel where he’ll be back.
