Book Review: Goth Girl and the Fete Worse Than Death

Review:  #595
Title:  Goth Girl and the Fete Worse Than Death
Series:  Goth Girl - 2nd book
Author: Chris Riddell
Read Before:  no
Comments:  While this is the second book in the series, Goth Girl and the Fete Worse Than Death has a scattered plot and boring events.  The majority of the book introduces on character after the next as they arrive to prepare for the fete, while Ada bounces around doing her daily things.  There seems to be no clear objective on where the plot is going, jumping from place to place.  Even by the time the ending comes, you still wonder what the point of the book was, as it felt aimless.  The numerous illustrations throughout serves as too much of a distraction.  The writing lacked the wittiness and humor that the author is known for so this makes the book very disappointing.
