Book Review: The World God Only Knows Vol. 8

Review:  #707
Title:  The World God Only Knows Vol. 8
Series:  The World God Only Knows - 8th volume
Author:  Tamiki Wakaki
Read Before:  no
Comments:   This was a busy volume, finishing up on a story from the last volume, completing a new story arc, setting up another two story arcs afterwards, and still have space for a filler chapter.  This time, Keima’s target is different.  While visiting his grandparents, Elsie is shocked and scared of an apparent ghost; this story arc is different in that Keima isn’t filling the gap with love, but rather with something else.  The next story arc featuring Sumire revolves around ramen.  It follows the typical pattern of Keima coming close, then researching ramen with her in order to get close.  Perhaps the most interesting aspect in this volume is further clarity of the being inside Tenri, being a fallen goddess.  Now that New Hell is catching on, it seems like she is in danger of being outed.  This thread was cut short though and shelved for later as the volume finishes the start of another target for Keima.  There were some good gags in the volume, and with so many things happening, it was never boring.
