Antz (1998)
Antz is a computer animated film with a focus on ants. Following Z, a worker ant who is bored by his mundane life of digging tunnels, he swaps positions with his Soldier buddy to attack a termite colony. This situation spirals out of control and a bigger scheme is discovered. Antz is clever in its approach, from the concept of integrating common day items from an ant's perspective, to the humor which works on both levels. Children will take delight in the animation and what the characters are doing, and their expressions, while adults laugh at the dialogue humor. There were a few moments where the pacing slowed down but it built nicely into a grand finale that showcases the spirit of teamwork. Antz is an excellent film brimming with adventure.
