Book Review: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down

Review:  #713
Title:  Diary of a Wimpy Kid:  Double Down
Series:  Diary of a Wimpy Kid - 11th book
Author:  Jeff Kinney
Read Before:  no
Comments:  Double Down delivers more of the Wimpy Kid goodness and humor.  It’s fantastic that the author still manages to find convey some extremely funny scenarios that Greg puts himself in.  Greg is still as selfish as ever, but not as annoying as before.  While that doesn’t justify his actions, at least you feel like you can kind of see Greg’s point of view.  Greg constantly gets himself into trouble with no real theme to it.  The illustrations continue to do a great job at complementing the text.  Greg is still very petty but it’s enjoyable seeing how he comes up with his schemes (faking an interest in musical instruments to get to a party, or wasting money on cheap gimmicky items etc), that it doesn’t get old at all.
