Book Review: One-Punch Man Vol. 1

Review:  #835
Title:  One-Punch Man Vol. 1
Series:  One-Punch Man - 1st volume
Author:  One
Comments:  One-Punch Man chronicles the life of Saitama, who is a hero for fun and the most powerful superhero.  He is able to beat any enemy in one punch and this is used to pretty good effect in the first volume.  The quick pacing of the storytelling breezes through numerous adversaries and events.  It is so quick that it feels somewhat disjointed.  One scene has Saitama punching a monster targeting the city, the next he saves Genos, who ends up becoming his disciple.  It doesn’t slow down at all to give more background to what is happening in this world.  That said, Saitama has a lot of charm and the concept of being so overpowered that its boring is novel.
