Date A Live Movie: Mayuri Judgement (2015)

Date A Live Movie:  Mayuri Judgement is a film based upon the light novel series and follows the second season of the anime.  While it is a standalone story, you'll need to have watched the first two seasons to understand the context of everything.  Mayuri Judgement ends up being just like an extended episode.  It is an original story, and initially, nothing out of the ordinary happens.  While it is set in a world where spirits, who take on the form of females, have powers, no one bats an eye and life is pretty much normal.  Shido ends up going on a date with all the spirits he has saved thus far and this is just an excuse for more moments where Shido gets embarrassed, the girls express their love, and amusing bickering.  Wrapped into this is the mystery of the girl that seems to appear and disappear, and also the invisible sphere hovering above the town.  Due to the short length of the film, once the dates are over, it immediately dives straight into the climax with huge amounts of CGI, battle effects, and a lot of self-sacrificing actions.  The film is more of the anime and if you're a fan, then that's not a bad thing.
