Toy Review: Transformers BotBots Outtacontrol (Series 2)
Review: #585
Name: Outtacontrol
Brand: Transformers
Allegiance: N/A
Line: BotBots
Year of Release: 2019
Size Class: BotBots (Series 2)
Mold Status: redeco of Game Over
ALTERNATE MODE:
Outtacontrol probably has one of the coolest alternate mode ever. He turns into a purple game controller!
While the front is bursting with great detail, the back is pretty nondescript. That said, you aren't really going to display his back anyway.
Being a BotBot, Outtacontrol is very small, above is a comparison against Legion Barricade. This is a fantastic alternate mode overall and will definitely resonate with gamers.
TRANSFORMATION:
The transformation is pretty simple like most BotBots but works well. The legs flip down from behind, and you pull the controller grips outwards to reveal the hands. Finally, you pull the head upwards.
ROBOT MODE:
Outtacontrol's robot mode has some issues with proportions but it's mainly due to the gigantic shoulder pads that's formed from the controller's grip.
Like the alternate mode, the back is unpainted grey plastic. Despite the thin legs, he balances well.
The face is painted on and instead of a cheeky look, Outtacontrol looks like he is struggling with something.
Above is a comparison against Legion Crosshairs and you can see how short Outtacontrol is.
Articulation is limited to only swinging his arms forward. No matter, the robot mode carries enough charm to overcome the limited play value.
OVERALL:
Outtacontrol is only great for his game controller mode. The robot mode is a tad bit weak but there aren't any major flaws or issues with the figure. As a result, Outtacontrol is well worth your time.
