Smallfoot (2018)
Smallfoot is an animated film that tries to reverse the perspective on the yeti sightings phenomenon. Following Migo, a yeti living high up in the mountains of the Himalayas, he is a curious fellow. The yeti village has always maintained that their place atop of the clouds is the only piece of land, where below the clouds is just nothingness. The yetis follow a strict daily routine but Migo breaks his routine and questions his beliefs when he sees a human for the first time. The film's plot pretty much follows what you'd expect. Migo puts his trust into the human, the human betrays him, but then there is redemption at the climax. While this does make Smallfoot predictable, what sets it slightly apart are the scattered jokes that actually work fairly well. The film also contains a few songs, and some of those are catchy, and these musical scenes are the highlights. Smallfoot is an enjoyable film overall that manages to just avoids being a generic film for the younger audiences.
