My Comments: Now, where to begin, I guess the first thing I should say is… it’s only worth reading once. As I found out while reading it again, you pick up on a lot of flaws in the writing, story and just the series in general. It’s a huge book, and there are three distinct sections. The change from each section is sharp, each causing a completely different feel, which I believe makes it more suitable if the author managed to split it into two books instead. Anyway, if possible, Bella is even more selfish than before, especially towards Jacob and Edward. Causing extreme pain to them, seriously, why have ever had the indication that Bella wanted a baby? Developing this sudden attachment from the first day of her pregnancy and stubbornly carrying it when it was killing her, causing worry from everyone. Furthering that, the irrational choices of the characters are very annoying. Perhaps even more apparent is that Bella’s and Edward’s relationship are more superficial and shallow than ever before (there seems to be no reason for their love other than physical attractions). I’m pretty sick of the whole ‘perfect’ angle the author is going for. Then there’s the wtf moments, remember Bella’s pregnancy? Author brings up an apparently logical explanation of how Edward can still do it even though technically he doesn't have blood running through his body or the question on how he manages to replenish his ‘supplies’ but hey, I’m not vampire expert. How about Jake’s imprinting then? I’m sure many people find it weird, but I guess it makes sense and is a satisfying conclusion to the triangle relationship. The introduction needs more work; it’s a weird angle to take and very different feel to the first three books. The writing seems worse, with more padding and unnecessary descriptions, I mean, it’s already a long book, I don’t want to waste my time, just get to the point already. Jake’s break from the wolf pack felt contrived, seriously, many parts of the book feel very dodgy in how it happens, it’s like, I just want this to happen and a few pages later, “tada!”, through some illogical explanation, they succeed, just too easy. The child… Resnesmee, wow, I cannot find a worse name for her, a mouthful and the explanation on how her “special” ability works on Bella is, once again, illogical. The whole book is melodramatic, to the point of annoyingness. By halfway point (actually, even earlier than that), you’ll get sick of the whole “I don’t want to hurt you” type message. It seems characters are positioned in such a way that they’re perfect and are a godsend, most powerful and most righteous and ethical, just simply, “the best”. However, the biggest flaw… YOU DO NOT SPEND ALL THAT TIME TO BUILD UP A FIGHT AND THEN NOT HAVE ONE!!!! Imagine the disappointment when that happens, you got all these characters with some ridiculous abilities (they’re like superheroes now, detaching from the vampire theme), and the pre-battle events happen… then, sorry mate, we’re all friends now -_-. Maybe a good read the first time if you love the series, but it’s hard to not notice all its faults.
