My Comments: It’s not as if these books are getting worse, it’s just that the style of writing is becoming stale and the author does nothing to make it more refreshing. Once again, the Baudelaires get onto some crazy journey and many mysteries are presented to you. We get some slightly answers, not nearly enough to satisfy your hunger for revelations. It is frustrating to see how the Baudelaires are once again betrayed and how Olaf somehow gets his way. There is a lot of nonsense and filler paragraphs here, which pads out the book way too much to be interesting (they’re a waste of ink, space and time). It has a cliffhanger ending and once again indirectly promises revelations in the next book. Not a horrible book but it is one that will start to test your patience.
