A fantastic disaster film that's on a lesser scale than others. The plot is about when an explosion collapses an underwater tunnel in New York, following on a small band of survivors who must try and find a way to get out. The movie starts off quickly with the disaster happening within roughly fifteen minutes into it. It then takes a short break as it sets up the backstory on how the main character gets into the tunnel to help the people find a way out (this was the weakest part of the film). Then it's just a non-stop ride as one event chained after another happens. Not all the survivors make it out, while some of the earlier deaths will not impact you (because those characters acted like idiots right before), as you grow attached to the remaining survivors, you would be surprised at who dies and who does not. Those deaths impact you greatly and causing you to think if you were in their shoes, it would have been a sad way to die. The ending was a bit iffy in the way the main character gets out but otherwise, an intense film with great special effects.
